The 9 best AI app builders for non-technical foundersin 2026, for building a SaaS without a developer

A SaaS needs more than good screens: people sign up, pay you every month, and find their data when they come back. Here's how nine AI app builders handle subscriptions, login, the database, owning the code, a predictable bill and getting help when you're stuck, with prices from each official site.

By the Capacity team. Capacity is our product: it's listed first, and every section says who should pick something else. Prices come from each tool's official pricing page, checked on October 17, 2026.

Quick answer

If you want login, data and payments set up for you, Base44 builds all three from $16 a month billed yearly, and Lovable adds login and data with Lovable Cloud and can set up payments on its paid plans. Capacity, which we make, gives each app its own database and a custom domain on every plan, adds Stripe and login as extensions, and lets you build from Claude or ChatGPT without limits on every paid plan.

If owning the code matters from day one, Lovable syncs it with GitHub on every plan. If a predictable bill matters most, Capacity's plans are a fixed price with set credits, and Rocket has no per-seat pricing and credits that never expire.

If your SaaS is a client portal on top of your own data, Softr has user groups, permissions and Stripe subscriptions built for it. If you want to control complex logic screen by screen and hire help when you need it, Bubble.

The founder's SaaS checklist. Six things your builder has to handle.

Subscriptions, not just a checkout

A SaaS charges every month, so you need recurring billing, a way for customers to change or cancel their plan, and paid features that lock when a subscription ends. Stripe does the billing: 2.9% + 30¢ per US card payment, plus 0.7% of billing volume for subscriptions on pay-as-you-go. The builder's job is to tie it to your users; Lovable and Softr also add Stripe's customer portal.

Login that knows who paid

Subscriptions are matched to accounts, so login comes first. Lovable, Bolt.new, Base44, Floot, Softr and Bubble have it built in. Replit offers Replit Auth or Clerk, Rocket uses Supabase, and Capacity adds Clerk, Auth0 or a Supabase connection.

Where your customers' data lives

Your customers' data is the business, so know where it sits. Floot exports its Postgres database on every plan, Bolt.new lets you claim its database into your own Supabase account, Capacity gives each app its own SQLite database, and Softr can run on the Airtable or Notion you already use.

Owning the code

If the SaaS works, a developer will join one day. Lovable syncs the code with GitHub on every plan, Base44 from Builder ($40 a month billed yearly), Rocket pushes to your GitHub, and Capacity and Floot download a zip on paid plans. Bubble doesn't export code: the app stays on Bubble.

A bill you can predict

Most builders charge per message or token, so a month of heavy changes costs more than a quiet one. Capacity's plans come with a set number of credits and unlimited building from Claude or ChatGPT, Rocket's credits never expire, and Bubble also meters your app's traffic in workload units.

Help when you're stuck

Without a developer, you lean on undo and support. Capacity, Lovable and Bolt.new keep a version history to roll back a change, and Replit has checkpoints. Lovable offers email support from Pro, Floot priority support from Pro and a live chat, Base44 premium support on Elite, and Bubble lists agencies and freelancers you can hire.

How we compared them. The same questions for every tool.

  • Can it charge a monthly subscription and lock paid features to paying users?
  • Is login built in, and does it connect to payments?
  • Where the customer data lives, and whether you can get it out.
  • Whether you can take the code to a developer later.
  • How predictable the monthly bill is on the entry plan.
  • What help you get when something breaks: version history, support, experts for hire.
  • A dash in the comparison table means the tool's site doesn't list it.

Build from a description

01 · our product

Capacity

Best for non-technical founders who want a SaaS online on a fixed monthly price, built from a description or from Claude or ChatGPT.

Capacity's dashboard, where you describe what to build
The Capacity dashboard (sample projects)

Capacity turns a plain-language description into a working app: a React front end, a server and its own database, published at a capacity.studio address or on your own domain. You change it by chatting and watch each change in the preview. Examples built with Capacity, including a SaaS site and an invoicing app, are live on its Discover page.

Why pick Capacity

  • A fixed monthly price: each plan comes with a set number of credits (100 on the $25 Starter), and building from Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral is unlimited on every paid plan.
  • Each app has a server and its own database, and every plan includes a custom domain.
  • Extensions for a SaaS: Stripe payments, Clerk or Auth0 login, Resend, Brevo or SendGrid email, a CMS blog, Crisp or Intercom chat, and analytics.
  • A full version history to roll back any change, and the code as a zip on any paid plan; Capacity Desktop (macOS and Windows) pushes it to your GitHub.

Watch out for

  • The web app has no free plan: paid plans start at $25 a month. Capacity Desktop has a free plan with one project.
  • Login isn't built in: you add it with the Clerk or Auth0 extension, or a Supabase connection.
  • A smaller community and template library than Lovable's or Bubble's.

Pricing

Starter $25/month (100 credits), Growth $69/month (250 credits), Professional $129/month (500 credits), Business $299/month (1,000 credits). Every plan includes unlimited projects, custom domains and unlimited building from Claude and ChatGPT.

Lovable logo

02

Lovable

Best for founders who want the builder most guides recommend, with login, subscriptions and GitHub sync.

Lovable's home page
lovable.dev, October 17, 2026

Lovable builds web apps from a chat with a live preview beside it. Lovable Cloud adds the backend, with a database, user login, file storage and server functions on a Supabase foundation, and your code syncs both ways with GitHub on every plan.

Why pick it

  • Sign-in with email, phone, Google, Apple or Microsoft, set up by Lovable Cloud.
  • Subscriptions two ways: built-in payments Lovable sets up on a paid plan, or your own Stripe account, with checkout, subscriptions and Stripe's customer portal.
  • Every change is saved as a version you can preview and revert to.

Watch out for

  • Each message uses credits, and Lovable Cloud usage is billed in credits too once its monthly grant is used.
  • Your own domain and email support start on Pro (€25 a month); priority support is on Business (€50).

Pricing

Free: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro: €25/month for 100 monthly credits, with rollovers, top-ups and custom domains. Business: €50/month, adding a team workspace and SSO. Prices shown in euros from France.

Base44 logo

03

Base44

Best for founders who want login, data and payments built for them at the lowest entry price.

Base44's home page
base44.com, October 17, 2026

Base44, owned by Wix since 2025, builds the front end, backend, database, user login and payments from a plain-language description, runs the apps on its own infrastructure, and connects to tools like Gmail, Slack, Notion and HubSpot. It makes websites, internal tools, online stores and mobile apps.

Why pick it

  • The lowest entry price for an app builder on this list: Starter is $16 a month billed yearly.
  • Login and payments are part of what it builds, not an add-on.
  • User management and an analytics dashboard on every plan, and two-way GitHub sync of the full source code.

Watch out for

  • Plans count two kinds of credits, message credits and integration credits, so check both before a busy month.
  • GitHub integration starts on the Builder plan ($40 a month billed yearly).
  • Premium support comes only with Elite, $160 a month billed yearly.

Pricing

Free: 25 message credits a month. Billed yearly: Starter $16/month (100 message credits), Builder $40 (250), Pro $80 (500), Elite $160 (1,200). Monthly billing costs about 20% more.

Bolt.new logo

04

Bolt.new

Best for founders who want to try the idea on a free plan, then add a database, login and Stripe in the same place.

Bolt.new's home page
bolt.new, October 17, 2026

Bolt, from StackBlitz, builds websites and web apps from a chat in your browser and publishes them on Bolt Cloud, its built-in hosting and backend, with a database, file storage and server functions.

Why pick it

  • One of the most generous free plans here: 300K tokens a day, 1M a month.
  • Stripe for one-time payments and subscriptions, and sign-up with email or Google, with no outside account to create.
  • Version history and automatic backups to restore the project after a change that broke it.

Watch out for

  • Billing is in tokens, and long fix-and-retry sessions on a large project use them up faster.
  • A custom domain and removing the Bolt branding need Pro ($25 a month).

Pricing

Free: 300K tokens a day, 1M a month. Pro: $25/month, no daily limit, from 10M tokens a month, unused tokens roll over. Teams: $30 per member per month.

Replit logo

05

Replit

Best for founders who expect to learn some code, with the agent, the workspace and hosting together.

Replit's home page
replit.com, October 17, 2026

Replit Agent builds web and mobile apps from a chat, sets up the database and user login, tests its own work in a browser, and publishes the app with hosting, monitoring and custom domains. The code sits in a full cloud workspace you can open whenever you want.

Why pick it

  • Everything from the first prompt to hosting lives in one product.
  • Stripe through Replit's connector or your own keys, and login with Replit Auth or Clerk.
  • Checkpoints let you recover when the Agent takes a change in the wrong direction.

Watch out for

  • Plans include monthly credits ($20 on Core); beyond them, usage is billed by effort, so a long build is hard to price in advance.
  • The workspace shows the technical side, which can be a lot for non-technical founders.

Pricing

Core: $20/month ($18/month billed yearly), with up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode and $20 of usage for the more powerful models. Pro: $100/month ($90/month billed yearly). Enterprise on request. No free plan is listed on the pricing page.

Floot logo

06

Floot

Best for founders who already work in Claude or ChatGPT and want login, a database and Stripe built in.

Floot's home page
floot.com, October 17, 2026

Floot builds apps from the AI you already use: you add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor as a connector, describe the app in the chat, and Floot builds it with its backend, database and hosting, live at its own link. It publishes to the web, and converts the app for the App Store and Google Play.

Why pick it

  • Works from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with no git and no terminal.
  • Login (email, Google, Microsoft), a Postgres database, Stripe for subscriptions and visitor analytics are built in.
  • You can export the database on every plan and download the code as a zip on paid plans.

Watch out for

  • Plans cap building actions per day (100 on Free, 1,000 on Pro) and include a monthly hosting allowance ($10 on Pro, $25 on Power).
  • There's no Git sync: a developer gets the code as a zip or through a synced local folder.

Pricing

Free: 100 building actions a day, 2 mobile app builds a month. Pro: $25/month with 1,000 actions a day, $10 of hosting and 5,000 AI credits a month, custom domains. Power: $100/month with 5,000 actions a day, $25 of hosting and 15,000 AI credits. Yearly billing gives two months free.

Rocket logo

07

Rocket

Best for founders who want market research before the build, with no per-seat pricing.

Rocket's home page
rocket.new, October 17, 2026

Rocket calls itself a vibe solutioning platform. Solve researches a market or a decision and recommends what to build; Build turns a prompt, or that research, into web apps, mobile apps, landing pages, SaaS and internal tools, with staging and production environments and one-click deploys; Intelligence watches what your competitors change.

Why pick it

  • Research and competitor tracking sit next to the builder and share its context.
  • Stripe for one-time checkout and subscriptions, and Supabase for the database and login, each added from a prompt.
  • Credits never expire, and you can buy more whenever you need them.
  • No per-seat pricing: every plan, including Free, has unlimited team members.

Watch out for

  • Building, research and tracking draw on the same credits, so a plan's credits cover more than the app.
  • Pro includes 100 credits a month and essential research; the full suite starts on the $50 Rocket plan.

Pricing

Free: 20 credits. Billed monthly: Pro $25 (100 credits a month), Rocket $50 (250 credits, the full suite), Booster $250 (1,500 credits). Unlimited team members on every plan, and credits never expire. Yearly billing saves 20%.

Visual builders with AI

Bubble logo

08

Bubble

Best for founders building a complex SaaS they want to control screen by screen, with experts to hire.

Bubble's home page
bubble.io, October 17, 2026

Bubble is the long-standing visual app builder. It now starts from an AI prompt and lets you switch between prompting and editing visually, for web, iOS and Android apps, with its own database and workflows.

Why pick it

  • User accounts are built in: sign-up, login and sessions are handled for you.
  • Its manual walks through SaaS subscriptions with Stripe, from a single plan to tiers.
  • A directory of Bubble agencies, freelancers and coaches when you need a hand.
  • Deep control over data, workflows and permissions, which suits complex products.

Watch out for

  • It takes longer to learn than prompt-only builders.
  • Usage is measured in workload units, which grow with your app's traffic.
  • Bubble doesn't export code, so the app stays on Bubble.

Pricing

Free plan to build. Billed yearly: Starter $29/month, Growth $119/month, Team $349/month, each with more AI credits and workload units.

Softr logo

09

Softr

Best for founders whose product is a client portal or a members' app on top of their own data.

Softr's home page
softr.io, October 17, 2026

Softr is an AI app builder for business operations: secure internal tools and client portals with databases, workflow automation and integrations included. You build with AI or with no-code blocks, and connect data from its own databases or tools like Airtable and Notion.

Why pick it

  • Built for portals: granular permissions and visibility, Google sign-in and one-time passwords for your app's users from Pro.
  • Stripe Checkout for one-time payments or subscriptions, a block for Stripe's customer portal, and user groups set from what each customer pays for.
  • Over 59 integrations, including Airtable and Notion as data sources.

Watch out for

  • AI credits are few (5 a month free, 10 on Basic, 50 on Pro), so most building is done with no-code blocks.
  • Mobile means an installable web app (PWA) with push notifications, on the Business plan.

Pricing

Free: 5 AI credits a month. Billed yearly: Basic $19/month (10 AI credits, custom domain), Pro $99/month (50 AI credits, no Softr branding, permissions, custom code), Business $329/month (100 AI credits, 2FA, installable mobile app with push notifications). Yearly billing gives two months free.

Questions people ask. Short answers, with the details above.

What's the best AI app builder for a non-technical founder building a SaaS?

One that handles login, the database and subscriptions for you and keeps you in a chat and a preview. Base44 builds all three from $16 a month billed yearly, Lovable (€25 a month) adds login and data with Lovable Cloud and syncs the code with GitHub, Floot builds them in from Claude or ChatGPT, and Capacity ($25) gives every app a database and a custom domain, with Stripe and login as extensions. For a client portal, Softr; for complex logic built visually, Bubble.

Can I build a SaaS without a developer?

You can build and launch one. The builders on this list write the app, host it and connect Stripe and login. What stays with you is opening the Stripe account, deciding your plans and prices, testing a real payment before launch, and pointing your domain. A developer becomes useful once paying customers rely on the app, which is why owning the code matters.

How do I add subscriptions and Stripe payments to an AI-built app?

Ask for it in the chat, then connect your Stripe account. Lovable can set up payments itself on paid plans or use your Stripe keys, with subscriptions and a customer portal. Bolt.new, Floot and Rocket connect Stripe with subscriptions, Replit has a Stripe connector, Capacity a Stripe extension, Softr a Stripe Checkout block, and Base44 builds payments in. Subscriptions need login first, so customers are matched to what they pay for.

How much does it cost to run a SaaS built with AI?

The builder's plan, from $16 a month billed yearly on Base44, $19 on Softr Basic (yearly), $20 on Replit Core and $25 on Capacity, Bolt.new, Floot or Rocket, plus extra credits in busy months. Stripe takes 2.9% + 30¢ per US card payment and 0.7% of billing volume for subscriptions. Capacity includes a custom domain on every plan; on Lovable and Bolt.new it starts with Pro.

Do I own the code and the data?

It depends on the builder. Lovable syncs your code with GitHub on every plan, Base44 from Builder, and Rocket pushes it to your GitHub. Capacity and Floot download it as a zip on paid plans, and Capacity Desktop pushes it to GitHub. Floot exports the database on every plan, and Bolt.new lets you claim the database into your own Supabase account. Bubble doesn't export code.

What do I do when the AI breaks my app?

Go back to the last version that worked: Capacity, Lovable and Bolt.new keep a version history, and Replit has checkpoints. Then ask again in one message, with what you did, what you expected and what happened instead. If the builder still can't fix it, contact its support or hire a freelancer, which is where GitHub sync or a zip download pays off; on Bubble, hire from its expert directory.

Can I build a SaaS with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes, through a builder that connects to them. Capacity works from Claude, ChatGPT and Mistral: your own subscription writes the code and Capacity hosts the app, without limits on every paid plan. Floot works from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with 100 building actions a day on its free plan, and Lovable has a ChatGPT app. On their own, Claude and ChatGPT write the code; the builder adds the hosting, the database and your domain.

Bubble or an AI prompt builder for a SaaS?

A prompt builder like Lovable, Base44 or Capacity gets a first version online faster, because you describe the product instead of assembling it, and most hand you the code. Bubble takes longer to learn and keeps the app on Bubble, but gives fine control over logic and permissions, and its expert directory makes it easy to hire help. Bubble also bills your app's traffic in workload units.
