Quick answer
For a salon, Wix and Square are the strongest all-in-one picks: Wix Bookings from the Core plan ($29 a month billed yearly), Square from its free plan, with card fees on each payment. SimplyBook.me is the dedicated booking system, free for 50 bookings a month.
For a yoga or fitness studio, look for classes and memberships: Wix includes both from Core, Square adds class booking and packages on Plus ($49 a month per location), and Squarespace sites book through Acuity Scheduling, whose Standard plan ($27 a month billed yearly) sells memberships and packages. Durable suits one-on-one services, Hostinger basic appointments.
If booking is your product, or your rules don't fit a scheduling tool, build the app instead. Capacity, which we make, builds a booking app with its own database from a description (Slotwise, on our Discover page, is one), takes deposits with its Stripe extension and sends email through Resend, Brevo or SendGrid. Lovable and Base44 build custom apps too.

What a booking website needs. And how these tools differ.
Appointments or classes
A salon books a person for a set time, with buffers between clients; a studio sells seats in a class with a capacity limit. Every booking tool here takes appointments. Classes are where they split, so check the class features before you pick.
Deposits and no-show fees
A deposit, or a card saved at booking, is the most direct way to cut no-shows, and a late-cancellation fee only works if the tool can charge that card. Check which plan turns these on: on several tools here, it isn't the cheapest one.
Reminders by email and text
Email reminders are common. Text messages are where plans differ: some include them from the free plan, others on a higher tier or in paid packs.
Class packs, memberships and calendars
Studios run on class packs and monthly memberships, so check that the tool can sell a pack, count the sessions used and renew a membership by itself. Calendar sync matters too, so personal appointments block the booking calendar.
How the price grows
Prices grow along different lines: per location, per bookable calendar, per booking a month, per seat, or as a fee on memberships. Count your staff, locations and monthly bookings before comparing; card processing comes on top everywhere.
A booking tool or your own app
A booking platform gives you a tested calendar, payments and reminders on day one. An AI app builder builds an app around your business, or a booking product to sell, and you test the booking logic yourself before real clients use it.
How we compared them. The same questions for every tool.
- Appointments with staff and buffers, and classes with capacity limits.
- Deposits, prepayment and no-show fees.
- Email and text reminders, and what texts cost.
- Class packs, memberships and packages.
- Calendar sync, and booking from Instagram, Facebook or Google.
- How the price grows: per plan, location, calendar, booking or transaction.
Booking tools with a website
01
Wix
Best for salons and studios that want bookings, classes and memberships on the same site.

Wix is a website builder with an AI website builder: you describe the site in a prompt, then refine it with drag and drop or with Aria, its built-in AI agent. Hosting is included, and you add business tools as you need them, such as an online store, scheduling software for bookings, or a blog.
Why pick it
- Wix Bookings covers private appointments, group classes and multi-session courses, with staff calendars, waitlists and automated reminders by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- From Core, it takes a deposit when clients book and sells memberships, subscriptions and session packages through Pricing Plans.
- Clients book from your site, Instagram, Facebook, Google or ClassPass, or from Spaces, Wix's branded client app.
Watch out for
- Light can't accept payments: payments, eCommerce and scheduling start on Core at $29 a month, which also takes a 4% fee on the pricing plans you sell (2% on Business, 0% on Business Elite).
- The free plan keeps Wix branding and a wixsite.com address; your own domain needs a Premium plan, from $17 a month billed yearly.
Pricing
Free: Wix branding on a wixsite.com address. Billed yearly: Light $17/month (2 GB storage, 2 collaborators, no online payments), Core $29/month (50 GB, payments, basic eCommerce, scheduling), Business $39/month (100 GB, standard eCommerce), Business Elite $159/month (unlimited storage, advanced eCommerce). Wix shows yearly prices only; other billing periods exist. 14-day money-back guarantee.
02
Square
Best for salons and barbers that take cards in person and want a free booking site.

Square is a point-of-sale and payments platform whose plans include a website builder for an online store (the product formerly called Square Online) and online booking with Square Appointments. The site, the booking page, your items, inventory and customers stay in sync with Square's point of sale, so in-person and online sales run from one account.
Why pick it
- Square Free costs $0 a month and includes the website builder with SEO tools, an online store and a booking website; you pay only processing fees.
- The free plan includes unlimited calendars, takes deposits and prepayments, sends text and email reminders, and adds Book Now buttons to Instagram, Facebook and your Google Business Profile.
Watch out for
- Every card payment has a processing fee: online, 3.3% + 30¢ on Free and 2.9% + 30¢ on Plus and Premium, plus 1.5% for cards issued outside the US.
- Class booking and packages, waitlists, no-show fees and Google Calendar sync need Plus, at $49 a month per location; resource booking needs Premium, at $149.
Pricing
The same plans cover the online store and Square Appointments. Square Free: $0/month, processing fees only (3.3% + 30¢ online, 2.6% + 15¢ in person). Square Plus: $49/month per location (2.9% + 30¢ online, 2.5% + 15¢ in person), adds a custom domain, expanded site customization, abandoned-cart emails, subscriptions, waitlists and class bookings. Square Premium: $149/month per location (2.9% + 30¢ online, 2.4% + 15¢ in person), adds real-time shipping rates, resource booking and 24/7 phone support. Plus and Premium have a 30-day free trial; Square Pro has custom pricing for businesses processing over $250,000 a year.
03
SimplyBook.me
Best for service businesses and studios that want a dedicated booking system, priced per business.

SimplyBook.me is an online booking system for service businesses: it gives you a booking website and widget, takes appointments, sends reminders by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and accepts online and in-person payments, with admin and client apps. Its AI assistant can set up and run the booking system by chat.
Why pick it
- A free plan with a booking website, booking widget and admin app (50 bookings a month, 1 provider).
- Classes with capacity limits and recurring sessions, members-only classes, and memberships that cap how many sessions a client can book.
- No transaction fees from SimplyBook.me on bookings or payments, and HIPAA features from the Standard plan.
Watch out for
- Payments and deposits start on Basic ($11.90 a month billed yearly), not the free plan.
- Every plan caps bookings per month (50 on Free, 100 on Basic, 500 on Standard, 2,000 on Premium); extra bookings come in packs of 100 for $4.
Pricing
Free: 50 bookings a month, 1 provider. Billed yearly: Basic $11.90/month (100 bookings, 5 providers), Standard $24.90/month (500 bookings, 15 providers), Premium $49.90/month (2,000 bookings, 30 providers). Billed monthly: $13.90, $29.90 and $59.90. Enterprise is custom. 14-day free trial, no card needed. Add-ons: 100 SMS credits $8, 100 extra bookings $4, custom domain with 3 years of SSL $119.
04
Squarespace
Best for a design-led site, with bookings run by Acuity Scheduling.

Squarespace builds websites from templates, with built-in AI tools, a custom domain free for the first year of an annual plan, and commerce on every plan: products, services, invoices, content and memberships.
Why pick it
- Acuity Scheduling, Squarespace's own booking tool, handles appointments and group classes, takes payments and deposits through Stripe, Square or PayPal, and sits in your site through a Scheduling block.
- Acuity Standard adds text reminders, a waitlist, memberships and packages, and gift certificates, for up to 6 bookable calendars.
Watch out for
- Acuity is a separate subscription on top of the website, from $16 a month billed yearly for one calendar with email reminders.
- No free plan, only a 14-day trial. Website prices are shown in euros from France.
Pricing
Billed yearly: Basic €12/month, Core €18/month, Plus €32/month, Advanced €69/month (prices shown in euros from France; paying monthly costs up to 36% more). 14-day free trial. Acuity Scheduling is billed separately, in US dollars: Starter $16, Standard $27, Premium $55 a month billed yearly ($20, $34, $69 monthly); 7-day trial.
05
Durable
Best for solo coaches, stylists and trainers who want a site, one-on-one bookings and a CRM fast.

Durable is an AI business builder for small service businesses: it gets a business online with an AI-generated website in about 30 seconds, then adds a CRM, online bookings, SEO tools and AI agents that write blog posts, reply to leads and Google reviews, and research competitors.
Why pick it
- Online bookings on paid plans: unlimited bookings synced to your calendar, paid bookings and intake questions.
- Clients can prepay when they book, or you save their card and charge after; confirmations and reminders go out automatically, with your cancellation and refund rules.
Watch out for
- Durable says its bookings are built for one-on-one services, so it isn't the pick for a class timetable.
- On the free plan the site is a private preview; publishing to a durable.site subdomain or your own domain, and AI website edits, start on Launch.
Pricing
Free: a private website preview, 300 AI credits in total, a CRM for up to 10 customers. Billed yearly: Launch $22/month (1,000 AI credits a month, custom domain up to $20, unlimited bookings, AI agents), Grow $41/month (5,000 credits a month, unlimited team members, site translation, $40 domain credit). Billed monthly: $25 and $49.
06
Hostinger Website Builder
Best for a simple booking site at the lowest price, paid for years upfront.

Hostinger's website builder is part of Hostinger AI Builder, which has two modes: Manual, where AI generates a site from your description and you refine it with drag and drop, and Agentic, where you build websites and web apps by chatting with AI. Plans bundle hosting, and email mailboxes and a domain free for the first year on terms of 12 months or more (each mailbox then renews at $0.59 a month, per hostinger.com/website-builder).
Why pick it
- Paid or free appointments, group sessions for classes and workshops, Google Calendar sync, and clients cancel or reschedule on their own.
- Hostinger says its booking tools come at no extra cost, from $2.99 a month on a 48-month term.
Watch out for
- Headline prices assume paying 48 months upfront: Premium is $11.99 on a monthly plan, and every plan renews higher ($10.99 a month for Premium).
- Its booking page doesn't mention deposits, text reminders or memberships, so check before you rely on them.
Pricing
Paid upfront, excluding VAT. Premium (3 websites, 250 AI credits): $11.99 for 1 month, $3.99/month on 12 months ($47.88), $2.99/month on 48 months ($143.52), renews at $10.99/month. Unlimited (unlimited websites, 500 credits): $18.99, $4.99 or $3.99/month, renews at $16.99. Cloud Startup (1,000 credits): $27.99, $9.99 or $7.99/month, renews at $25.99. Hostinger Ecommerce add-on: $1 for 3 months, then $8.99/month.

Build your own booking app
07 · our product
Capacity
Best for booking that doesn't fit a scheduling tool, or a booking product of your own.

Capacity builds a working app from a plain-language description: a React front end, a server and its own database, published at a capacity.studio address or on your own domain. You change it by chatting and see each change in a preview, with a full version history. Slotwise, a booking app built with Capacity, is live on capacity.so/discover.
Why pick Capacity
- Nothing is fixed by a scheduling template: the screens, the data and the rules come from your description, and you change them by asking.
- Deposits through the Stripe extension, and email through the Resend, Brevo or SendGrid extensions.
- Build it from Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral through Capacity's connector: your own subscription writes the code, Capacity hosts the app, and building this way is unlimited on every paid plan.
Watch out for
- It isn't a booking product: there's no calendar or class timetable to switch on, and SMS isn't among its extensions. Test the flow before real clients book.
- Client accounts need the Clerk, Auth0 or Supabase extension: login isn't built in.
- The web app has no free plan: paid plans start at $25 a month (100 credits). Capacity Desktop has a free plan with one project.
Pricing
Starter $25/month (100 credits), Growth $69/month (250 credits), Professional $129/month (500 credits), Business $299/month (1,000 credits). Every plan includes unlimited projects, custom domains and unlimited building from Claude and ChatGPT.
08
Lovable
Best for a custom booking app built by chat, with the code synced to GitHub.

Lovable builds web apps from a chat with a live preview beside it. Lovable Cloud adds the backend, with a database, user login, file storage and server functions on a Supabase foundation, and your code syncs both ways with GitHub on every plan.
Why pick it
- Payments run on Stripe: built-in payments on paid plans, where Lovable sets up the account for you, or your own Stripe account on any plan.
- Two-way GitHub sync on every plan, including Free, so a developer can take over later.
Watch out for
- Each message uses credits, and Lovable Cloud usage is billed in credits too once its monthly grant is used.
Pricing
Free: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro: €25/month for 100 monthly credits, with rollovers, top-ups and custom domains. Business: €50/month, adding a team workspace and SSO. Prices shown in euros from France.
09
Base44
Best for a custom booking app with login and payments built in, at the lowest app-builder price.

Base44, owned by Wix since 2025, builds the front end, backend, database, user login and payments from a plain-language description, runs the apps on its own infrastructure, and connects to tools like Gmail, Slack, Notion and HubSpot. It makes websites, internal tools, online stores and mobile apps.
Why pick it
- Login and payments are part of what it builds, not an add-on.
- The lowest entry price for an app builder on this list: Starter is $16 a month billed yearly.
- It wraps your app for the App Store and Google Play and helps you submit it.
Watch out for
- Plans count two kinds of credits, message credits and integration credits, so check both before a busy month.
- Store apps are your web app in a native web view, not a native rebuild.
Pricing
Free: 25 message credits a month. Billed yearly: Starter $16/month (100 message credits), Builder $40 (250), Pro $80 (500), Elite $160 (1,200). Monthly billing costs about 20% more.

Questions people ask. Short answers, with the details above.
What is the best AI website builder for a salon with online booking?
Wix and Square are the strongest all-round picks. Wix Bookings adds staff calendars, deposits and email, SMS or WhatsApp reminders from Core ($29 a month billed yearly). Square's free plan takes deposits and sends text and email reminders, with card fees only (3.3% + 30¢ online). SimplyBook.me sends SMS and WhatsApp reminders at $8 per 100, and Squarespace sites book through Acuity, from $16 a month billed yearly.
What is the best website builder for a yoga studio with class booking?
One that sells class packs and memberships, not only appointments. Wix includes classes and membership plans from Core ($29 a month billed yearly), Acuity Standard ($27 billed yearly) adds memberships, packages and text reminders, and Square adds class booking and packages on Plus ($49 a month per location). SimplyBook.me offers classes with capacity limits and memberships. Mindbody, studio management software, starts at $79 a month per location in North America.
Is there a free booking website builder?
Square Free is $0 a month with a booking website; you pay card fees on each payment. SimplyBook.me is free for 50 bookings a month and one provider. Wix's free plan has no bookings (they start on Core), and Calendly's free plan covers one event type for one-on-one meetings. The Capacity web app has no free plan; Capacity Desktop has one with a single project.
How do I take deposits to cut no-shows?
Take money at booking. Square does it on its free plan and charges no-show fees on Plus. Wix takes deposits from Core and charges late-cancellation fees automatically. Acuity takes deposits on every plan, SimplyBook.me from Basic, and Durable lets clients prepay or keeps their card to charge after. In an app built with Capacity, deposits go through the Stripe extension.
Is Calendly enough for a salon or a studio?
For one person booking meetings, it can be. Calendly's free plan has one event type; Standard, $10 a seat a month billed yearly ($12 monthly), adds unlimited event types, reminders and Stripe or PayPal payments. It's priced per host and gives you a booking page, not a website, so salons with staff and studios with a timetable fit the tools above better.
Should I build my own booking app with AI instead?
Build one when booking is the product, such as a marketplace of teachers, or when your rules don't fit a scheduling tool. Capacity, Lovable and Base44 build an app with its own database from a description; Slotwise, a booking app built with Capacity, is on capacity.so/discover. You test payments, reminders and double bookings yourself. For one salon or studio, a booking platform is faster and cheaper.
How much does a booking website cost per month?
From $0 to about $50 for one location: Square Free is $0 plus card fees, Hostinger $2.99 on a 48-month term, SimplyBook.me Basic $11.90 and Durable Launch $22 (both billed yearly), Wix Core $29 billed yearly, a Squarespace site from €12 plus Acuity from $16, and Square Plus $49 per location. Mindbody starts at $79 a month per location in North America.
